Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: (examples)                                   

• Assess material and labor variances, prepare journal entries, and reconcile balance sheet accounts 
• Maintain standards and implement standard cost rolls
• Analyze absorption variances and establish standard rates for labor and overhead
• Project the product inventory portions of Gross Profit and Cost of Sales
• Project monthly inventory balances
• Generate and analyze Excess and Obsolete Inventory reports for disposition of inventory
• Utilize job cost systems to track expenses
• Write/edit policies and procedures
• Review internal controls
• Serve as a liaison for internal and external auditors
• Other projects and reports as assigned
  

Education & Experience: (examples)

• BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or Business, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
• 5-7 years standard cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Thorough knowledge of Excel
• Experience with fully integrated accounting system and understanding of ERP
  

Physical Requirements: (examples)

• Approximately 80% of the time is spent sitting at a computer.  The remaining 20% of the time is spent either standing or walking.  
• Some bending and stretching may be required to reach a phone or to get a file.
• Lifting of 10 pounds or less may be required.
